Discover the Reciprocal Benefits of Planned Giving at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart
You believe in the goals of a Stuart education. You want the School to be in touch with the lives of future generations of women. One way to ensure the continued vitality of the School is through financial contributions. Although you want to make a difference, you may be concerned about your own future financial needs. We would like your gift to the School to be as rewarding to you as possible. To this end, gifts can be planned in such a way that they return benefits to you.
MAKE A GIFT THAT COSTS YOU NOTHING DURING YOUR LIFETIME
Name Stuart in your will. This is the most popular gift among members of Stuart's planned giving society, The Mater Legacy Society. You can also make Stuart the beneficiary of a revocable trust or of your retirement plan.
BECOME A PARTNER WITH STUART
For instance, you can make a gift that pays you income for life. You can also sell property to the School at a charitable discount. Alternatively, you can deed your house to the School and continue to live there.
CONSIDER A NON-CASH DONATION
A gift of appreciated securities may result in a charitable deduction greater than the cost basis of the stock.
ARE YOU HOLDING NON-CASH ASSETS WITH A LOW BASIS AND HIGH MAINTENANCE COSTS?
Consider making a gift of real estate, such as a second home or underdeveloped land; a collection of books or art work; or a life insurance policy that you no longer need.
These different ways of giving are called "Planned Gifts." This website explores a wide variety of planned giving possibilities. Where to start? If you already have identified your giving options, click on Ways to Give Wisely. This link will take you directly to the planned gift of your choice. If you are unsure of how a gift can meet both your personal and charitable goals, start at Discover the Benefits of Giving Wisely. This link demonstrates both how planned gifts work, and how they can extend your ability to give.
Unless you specify otherwise, your planned gift to Stuart will be used to benefit the School, at the discretion of the Board. Although the School deeply appreciates all gifts, donors are encouraged to make unrestricted gifts. Unrestricted planned gifts at Stuart are used to meet the School's current needs. Such needs may include increasing the School's endowment. Should you wish to make a restricted gift or bequest, please speak to the Head of School, Sr. Frances de la Chapelle or Dr. Linda Bonnell, Director of Development. Your planned gift will help assure that Stuart maintains its excellent and caring faculty, its diverse and accomplished student body, and its beautiful serene campus.
