Bequest

How It Works

You can provide now for a future gift to Stuart by including a bequest provision in your will or revocable trust.

Your will or trust directs assets to your heirs.

Your will or trust directs a bequest to Stuart for the purpose(s) you specify.

This is how you might include Stuart in your will: "I give, devise and bequeath to Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, located in Princeton, New Jersey, the sum of $_________ (or _________% of my estate) to be used by its trustees in carrying out its corporate objectives and purposes."

Unrestricted gifts, such as those made in wills using the language provided above, are used to meet the School's current needs. Such needs may include increasing the School's endowment.

If you wish to make a bequest for a specific purpose, please contact the Head of the School or the Director of Development.

Benefits

  • Your assets remain in your control during your lifetime.

  • You can modify your bequest if your circumstances change.

  • You can direct your bequest to a particular purpose (be sure to check with Stuart to make sure your gift can be used as intended).

  • There is no upper limit on the estate tax deductions that can be taken for charitable bequests.

  • You can have the satisfaction now of knowing that your bequest will support Stuart in the way you intended when you are gone.
